Dinshaw Eduljee crashed in action behind Japanese lines. His body was never found. The Indian Air Force No. 1 Squadron's Log from Nov. 28, 1944 states:
"F/O Eduljee was the only (then) AFC in the Indian Air Force. He had obtained this award for outstanding service as instructor at Flight Training School, Ambala. Many of the younger pilots in the Indian Air Force may have been his pupils -
Si monumentum requiris, circumspice (If you seek his monument, look around you)."

Dinshaw Eduljee (seated right) in summer uniform (short pants) wearing the AFC ribbon. This image was taken in the summer of 1944 perhaps on leave visiting family either shortly before or after his deployment to Imphal.
Also in the photo are his younger brother Shahriyar (seated left) and father Ferozeshaw (seated rear)
The image appears to have been taken at the residence of Dinshaw's sister Meheroo & her husband Ealy (Erauchsha) Sohrabji on Taj Road in Agra Cantonment, India. Image provided courtesy of Arzan G. Sohrabji
Dinshaw Eduljee (1942-44?) in his flying uniform. Image courtesy of Audrey Phillips from a set sent to her by Phyllis a sister of Jean Gardner, Dinshaw's friend from Wynberg School. Dinshaw could have given this photo to Jean or Phyllis who knew him as "Dinoo". Jean is survived by her sister Phyllis (93 years of age in 2013) who informed Audrey that Dinshaw had called on her (Phyllis) a couple of times in 1942. At that time Phyllis was working at Woodstock School, Mussoori, India (Woodstock School is about 2 km NE of Wynberg-Allen). Phyllis remembers Dinshaw as a serious young man.
